John Sypert, Pastor

John Sypert was raised in rural East Texas where his parents faithfully took him and his siblings to church where he heard the good news of salvation and professed faith in Christ at age 7, being baptized shortly thereafter.  Throughout Junior High and High School, he didn’t grow much as a Christian, choosing instead to live for himself.  He went to East Texas Baptist University for his undergrad studies.  It was at this time that he finally submitted his life fully to the Lord, surrendering his life to the Christian ministry.  From there he went to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received an M.Div and Th.M,  and then to Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary where he received a Ph.D in Theology and Apologetics.  During these years in seminary John served in several churches and met his beautiful wife Suzy. They were married in 2008 and have the joy of raising their three children, Elisha, Gideon, and Lidia.  In his free time, John loves to spend time with his family, read all kinds of books, run long distances, and watch Dallas Cowboys football.  John was called to serve Preston Highlands Baptist Church as Pastor in 2014.

Jared Puls, Pastor

Jared Puls was born in Fort Worth Texas while his father was in seminary. He and his family moved to Cape Coral Florida when he was a teenager. When he was 15, he gave his life to Jesus at a youth camp and was baptized later that year. Jared struggled with finding what God would have him do with his life, but he found joy volunteering in the sound booth and as a Sunday School teacher. Jared graduated from FGCU in 2011 with a BA in Communications and a minor in vocal performance. He furthered his education by assisting with seminary course development with the Founder’s Study Center as well as engaging in pastoral training with the Grace Theological Center in Cape Coral. Jared married his lovely wife, Katelyn in 2017 and they came to Preston Highlands Baptist Church in 2017. Jared loves being a father to his two little girls, Ember and Winter. Jared currently works as a digital advertising specialist and enjoys cooking, gardening, strategy board games, and playing with the family cats. He became an elder at Preston Highlands Baptist Church in 2021.
